Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10, 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran was among the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. In February 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, with the most significant being a $350,000 investment that covered 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children from a working-class Irish Catholic family. Florence, her mother, was an exemplary household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. At times, her family relied on deliveries of free food from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father being an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially after having consumed alcohol. Corcoran struggled at school and later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
