Kyra minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. Her most well-known work is portraying the role of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. After the end of the seventh season, the show was cancelled on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald, an educator and family therapist, a venture capitalist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII, a speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick identifies herself as Jewish and has stated that she is a participant in Passover seders.
